COLORADO, UNITED STATES (Reuters) — A wildfire close to the University of Colorado in Boulder that may be man-made burned about 62 acres (25 hectares) of woodland on Sunday (March 19) and prompted the evacuation of 426 houses within the drought-hit area, authorities mentioned.

The fireplace in Sunshine Canyon, simply exterior the college city, began earlier than daybreak on Sunday, with no accidents or harm to buildings reported, mentioned Commander Mike Wagner, a spokesman for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The Boulder Office of Emergency Management mentioned the blaze was 50 p.c contained.
