President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed Senator Risa Hontiveros for supposedly being selective about whom to take cudgels for on the subject of the difficulty of human rights.
In an interview following Metrobank’s 55th anniversary Tuesday (September 5) in Taguig City, Duterte questioned Hontiveros’ silence on the massacre of a household in Bulacan in June.
“‘Yung limang pinatay doon sa Bulacan, na pati ‘yung one-year-old na bata pinakialaman, pinatay. Why is that… Why don’t I hear… I do not hear her crying or even complaining that the police are not doing enough,” he stated.
Duterte accused Hontiveros of being with a bunch that’s using on the death of 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos in police anti-drug operations to carry the federal government down.
“Tapos, they pick up… Eleksyon eh. Politika. They’re crazily into it. And even before the elections, may assignment ‘yan siya. She was assigned with a group, I would not name them now. But, nakuha ko ‘yang mga conversations nila,” he stated.
On June 27, the spouse, mother-in-law and three kids of safety guard Dexter Carlos have been discovered useless inside their house in San Jose Del Monte.
The suspect, Carmelino “Miling” Navarro Ibañez, claimed to be underneath the affect of alcohol and medicines on the time of the crime.
Earlier within the day, Hontiveros stated “the killing of minors and young people are no longer an isolated incident” following the death of Delos Santos and 19-year-old Carl Angelo Arnaiz by the hands of the police.
