Senate leaders have agreed in precept to push for the proposed Charter change (Cha-cha) and the Bangsamoro Basic regulation (BB) as their high priorities in the second session of the 17th Congress.
Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday stated stated the precedence payments have been set throughout a Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) assembly held in a resort in Makati City.
“In principle pumayag kami nila (Senate President Aquilino) Koko (Pimentel III). Ang pag-uusapan ng bubuoing group (to study Cha-cha) eh kung alin ang (mode na) mas magpa facilitate (ng amendments) at mas magiging mabuti para sa atin,” he stated.
Sotto stated the BBL, the draft of which had already been submitted to President Duterte by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC), can be up for dialogue as properly.
“Most of them (those in the common legislative agenda) have been mentioned by the President,” the senator stated, referring to Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered final Monday.
The payments on the national identification (ID) system and the tax reforms have been the extent two priorities of the Senate.
