In the eyes of Senators Ralph Recto and Antonio Trillanes IV, their colleague, Sen. Manny Pacquiao was the “real winner” within the “Battle of Brisbane” and never the Australian, Jeff Horn.
In a unanimous determination, Pacquiao, 35, on Sunday misplaced the World Welterweight title to Horn, 29. The Filipino boxing legend needs a rematch with the Australian boxing hero.
Recto and Trillanes joined different Pacquiao’s followers and a few boxing sports activities analysts who believed that the Filipino boxing legend has been robbed of his World Welterweight belt.
“Those judges must be fired from boxing. Clearly, Manny won. All those who watched the fight know Sen. Manny was robbed of victory,” Recto mentioned.
Trillanes mentioned, “As far as boxing is concerned, I remain a big fan of Manny Pacquiao and I agree with the general observation that the judges stole that victory from him.”
Asked whether or not Pacquiao ought to now think about retiring from boxing, Recto mentioned, “With regard to many retiring, that’s his call. He knows what’s best for him, his family, the sport and his fans.”
“As regard the future, for as long as he believes that he can still fight, laban lang and continue to make us proud,” Trillanes mentioned.
Sen. JV Ejercito mentioned Pacquiao has nothing extra to show anymore. “He is one of the best boxers ever! He is a living legend of the sport!”
“At bilang kaibigan siyempre nag-aalala ka na rin lalo na’t magkasama pa kami ngayon. Boxing is a dangerous sport. Tuwing may laban si Manny, pakiramdam ko di ako makahinga hangga’t matapos ang laban. Iba na kasi pag kaibigan mo ‘yung lumalaban,” he mentioned.
