Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam is now in the Philippines for a state go to and to attend the 30th ASEAN Summit later this week.
Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Meynardo Montealegre, Finance Sec. Sonny Domiguez, Rep. Emi Rubiano and Pasay Mayor Tony Calixto welcomed the Bolkiah and his delegation, who arrived on the Balagbag Area, Villamor Air Base at round 6:45 p.m. Wednesday (April 26).
Prior to his arrival, presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella expressed optimism that the expanded bilateral assembly between Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Bolkiah may have important features for each nations.
“The two leaders are expected to exchange voews on pressing bilateral and regional issues of concern, including matters with respect to peace and security, trade and investments and ASEAN,” Abella stated.
Bolkiah will lay a wreath on Thursday (April 27 on the Jose Rizal’s monument in Manila earlier than being welcomed by the President at Malacañang grounds.
The leaders are anticipated to challenge a joint assertion after their assembly.
