Nine Filipino followers of the late Sultan Jamalul Kiram face execution for a failed “invasion” of part of Sabah 4 years in the past.

The Appeals Court in Putrajaya, Malaysia overturned the pure life sentence of the 9, and sentenced them to death for waging battle towards the king.

The 9 had been interesting towards their conviction.

At least 9 members of the Malaysian safety forces had been killed in the intrusion between Feb. 12 and April 10, 2013.

Court of Appeal decide Justice Mohd Zawawi Salleh, who chaired the three-man panel that dealt with the case, stated the choice was unanimous.
