The Armed Forces of the Philippines will file charges towards comic Mae Paner, who’s also called Juana Change, for wearing military uniform throughout the protest rally on June 24 for the State of the Nation Address.

AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla on Thursday (July 27) mentioned Paner violated the legislation by donning a military uniform throughout the occasion since she was neither a soldier nor a member of the reservist corps.

Padilla mentioned the unauthorized use of military uniform is penalized beneath Republic Act 493 or the Prohibition of Use of Insignias, Decorations, Badges and patches prescribed for the AFP.

He added that Paner can not use as protection the donning of military uniform on tv reveals and films since she wore hers at a protest.

While the AFP is not going to bar Paner from wearing the military uniform at protests, every occasion she does so deserves a rely of violation for which she might be held liable.
