NATIONAL Police chief Ronald dela Rosa denied studies that the directorship of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 12 was particularly reserved for Supt. Marvin Marcos.
“No! No,” dela Rosa stated when requested to touch upon some allegation that the CIDG Region 12 top post had been vacated so as to accommodate Marcos.
“Noong nag back sila sa full duty status tinanong ko director CIDG, ‘Saan mo ito p’wede ilagay? Saan may bakante?’ ‘Sabi niya, bakante ‘yung Region 12 ng CIDG. So, p’wede ko ito ilagay duon, sabi ko.’ (And he said), ‘Go ahead,’” dela Rosa stated in an interview.
Marcos was CIDG Region eight director when he and 18 of his males have been charged with the homicide of former Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa and fellow inmate Raul Yap in November 2016.
However, the decrease courtroom downgraded the charges to murder upon the intervention of the Department of Justice (DoJ) which enabled Marcos and his males to post bail.
