Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino has denied Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II’s declare he met with different politikos in Marawi City final month.

In an announcement Wednesday (June 7), Aquino stated he was on the Philippine International Convention Center on May 2, the day Aguirre claimed he met with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano, former Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Ronald Llamas and native leaders.

The senator stated he was on the PICC to talk on the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ graduation workouts.

He stated he later went to the Senate that day.

Aquino confirmed flying to Marawi City on May 19 to launch the first Negosyo Center within the ARMM.

“I had with me an AFP escort throughout my trip, which can easily be verified through the AFP,” he stated.

Aquino chided Aguirre over his declare of a meeting with different politikos since particulars of his latest journey to Marawi will be simply verified.

“It would be prudent for Sec. Aguirre to clarify dates, seek evidence and request for official statements from legitimate government agencies before he makes yet another false accusation,” he stated.

“Is fake news enough for the head of our country’s Department of Justice to make these outrageous allegations?” Aquino requested.
