President Rodrigo Duterte seems to have accepted fairly shortly the Commission on Appointments’ (CA) resolution to reject the advert interim appointment of Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.
Malacañang on Wednesday (August 16) stated it’s “saddened” over Taguiwalo’s failure to hurdle the CA, simply minutes after lawmakers from the Senate and House of Representatives determined her destiny in a closed-door govt session.
In an announcement, presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella stated Duterte “is now looking and studying for a possible replacement” for Taguiwalo.
Abella described Taguiwalo as somebody who Duterte administration with ardour, occupation and integrity.
“She made an impact in the lives of many Filipinos in her tenure as DSWD Secretary,” he stated.
Taguiwalo is the third Cabinet Secretary whose appointment was not confirmed by the CA, after former Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. and former Environment Secretary Gina Lopez.
