Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II mentioned arrested members of the native terrorist group Maute will be detained in services in Metro Manila after their inquest at Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City at previous midday right this moment.
“As we celebrate our Independence Day, we are starting the inquest proceedings for the personalities allegedly involved in the violent attacks on Marawi City and its residents,” mentioned Aguirre, who flew to Misamis Oriental to oversee the preparations being made for the inquest proceedings.
He was joined by Justice Undersecretaries Antonio Kho Jr., who supervises the National Prosecution Service, and Renante Orceo who oversaw the Iligan City short-term workplace of the Marawi City Prosecutor’s Office.
“I commend all our prosecutors and everyone who are part of the DOJ Teams tasked to handle the inquest proceedings for their willingness to work even during this holiday in the name of justice and for all the innocents who suffered during the dastardly attack on Marawi City,” mentioned Aguirre.
“Once they have been subjected to inquest proceedings, we will work towards having the high value parties transferred to Manila to better secure them,” he added.
