TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte—Nine individuals, together with a detainee and a web based instructor, have been arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations performed by the members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in this metropolis.
These operations performed from April 13 to 17 resulted in the confiscation of 11 sachets of methamphetamine or shabu with mixed worth of P51,000.
Among these arrested was Bronson Nicol, a detainee on the Tacloban City Jail who was caught stashing a sachet of shabu weighing 1 gram valued at P8,000.
The contraband was found by the PDEA brokers and personnel of the town jail hidden in the suspect’s bunk mattress throughout an anti-drug operation on April 17 inside the power at 10:05 a.m.
Also arrested through the sequence of sting operations performed by the PDEA was Nelson Perante,50, a resident of Barangay (village) 50-A and mentioned to be a web based instructor.
Seized from the suspect and his cohorts—Jerry Japag, Harold Jim Tupas and Marlon Baluga—have been 5 sachets of shabu weighing zero.37 grams with a price of P3,000.
Of these operations, the largest haul seized by the PDEA brokers have been from Vicente Dueñas and Andy Ang who have been in possession of eight sachets of shabu weighing three.zero grams valued at P24,000.
Also arrested by the PDEA throughout these sequence of operations have been Jericho Marquez and Antonio Bayarong, each distributors, who have been in possession of three sachets of shabu valued at P8,000.
All the suspects at the moment are detained on the Tacloban City lock-up cell whereas instances for promoting and possession of unlawful medication have been filed towards them.
